Dr. Vaught earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Houston in 1989.  He received his medical degree in 1993 from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.  Dr. Vaught completed  an internship at the University of Tennessee and a Neurosurgery residency at  the University of Tennessee, Semmes-Murphy Clinic.  Prior to coming to Cape Girardeau, Dr. Vaught practiced in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Dr. Vaught is a noted public speaker who has given presentations on numerous neurological topics.

Dr. Vaught, and his wife Christy, live in Cape Girardeau with their three sons, Justin, Jake, and Jason.
